Greetings!
First,
I want to congratulate you for making the decision to eliminate Ritalin and
other behavioral and psychoneurotic drugs from you and your family’s life.
I wrote this book as a guide to make a difference in your family’s
health. My motivation is for you and
your family to live life in healthy abundance.
I treat patients who have a variety of health conditions
in a holistic manner. We do
not look at one organ at a time. Unfortunately,
most health care providers today focus on their narrowed specialty, simply
managing symptoms. Often, they will
not deviate from the pre-programmed way of medical thinking.
My
experience as a natural health care practitioner promoting drugless therapies is
often, very controversial. We live
in a drug-oriented society, and as a nation take billions of prescriptions a
year (someone is taking mine). The
average American consumes on the average in excess of twelve prescriptions per
year. Thirty-seven percent (37%) of
people older than sixty are currently taking five or more prescriptions a day,
and nineteen percent are taking seven or more prescriptions a day.
Seventy percent (70%) of all infants in the
For
me, every day is a reality check, “I live in the trenches,” as they say.
I have practiced for nearly 25 years having seen what medicine does to
the body and the psyche. They really
don’t care about anyone; they prescribe medication that covers up symptoms
(this will make someone mad, that’s good).
The problem is no one has really addressed the underlying cause of
hyperactivity, ADD, ADHD and ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder).
Trust me, there are a lot of variables.
I have read and researched articles, books, and history.
There is no clear picture painted by any particular authority, most of
the information is speculation with a few exceptions.
I am
not only a health care practitioner, but also a dad.
I have two healthy sons with no cavities, no eyeglasses, no medication,
no hyperactivity, no asthma and no Ritalin.
If I have two healthy sons who live in
There
will be those who will totally disagree with everything I am saying because
their research reveals differently. Often,
the results of research are directly related to the people funding the project.
The American medical system is big business, a weave of pharmaceutical
companies, insurance companies, and private practice.
There is one concept or fact I believe that most honest individuals can
agree upon. Man-made fat or
artificially altered natural fats found in our environment and foods are
detrimental to our health. The food
manufacturers may not agree with this since their livelihood depends on
extending the shelf life of products. But
as a practitioner I see time and again the damage this product is causing.
However,
we must understand and be realistic. We
need to change the way we think and thrive compared to those who nearly survive.
If we do not change our society of chemically dependent children and
adults, then the pharmaceutical companies will continue to profit from
Pharmaceutical
companies and the
medical establishment manage symptoms.
Ignoring the holistic body and managing symptoms pushes us farther away from the truth behind hyperactivity, ADD, ADHD and ODD. No one seems to know why abnormal behavioral and poor mental focus is an epidemic in America. I treat patients by modifying diets, improving nervous system function and teaching patients how their body can heal itself. The benefit from this protocol results in patients with normal behavioral and mental clarity. The old saying, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” is a standard in my practice.
Studies
have strongly suggested a correlation between a proper nutritional balance in
the area of Omega 3 fats; vitamin and mineral supplementation; and historically
we have seen attempts to eliminate specific colors, dyes, and preservatives.
These components have shown mixed success in treating hyperactivity, ADD,
ADHD, and ODD (Oppositional
