According to a study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, men who eat a diet rich in trails fats have a higher risk of developing gallstones. In a recent 12-year follow-up study, 45,000 of these same male healthcare practitioners completed questionnaires about diet, medication, and health history with updates every 2 years. Their diets were evaluated every 4 years. The results of this study suggested that trans fats in the diet do indeed contribute to gallstones. What do you do with this information? Start by reading labels and subsequently eliminating all trans fats - known as hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated fats - in ingredients listings from your diet. You’ll be glad you did!
